Summer's Farm
Our Story
Summer's Farm started in the summer of 2019 by Laura Lenkey. The vision for Summer's Farm was to create a space where riders of all levels could come and experience a unique partnership between riders, horses, and instructors that stimulates growth and development. Summer's Farm offers a full range of equestrian activities such as riding lessons, hippotherapy, horse boarding, etc.
In January of 2021 Summer's Farm became a "verified" farm by Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program.
Laura Lenkey
Laura is an experienced speech language pathologist who specializes in brain injury and hippotherapy. Laura has over 25 years experience helping others improve their life skills in the office and in the arena. Laura has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph. D.) focused in Human Sciences and a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry. Laura has loved horses ever since she was a child. She is grateful that she has the opportunity to share her dream with others.
EDI Lenkey
"EDI" , pronounced ee-'dee, is an acronym for "easy does it." EDI is new to the farm. EDI has taken it upon herself to be the designated greeter to the farm. EDI takes her job very seriously and wants everyone who comes to the farm to feel loved and welcome.
